[…] Le dodici tavole della serie The white distance (2010) traggono origine da un progetto precedente (Solo Espera, 2007), particolarmente importante nel percorso di Patrizia Novello. A tre anni di distanza, l’artista ha sentito l’esigenza di riprendere quelle carte, portandole nella grande dimensione e attenuandone i toni di colore. Le scritte (alcune autobiografiche, altre condivise) sembrano costituire l’incipit di tante storie che potrebbero dare vita ad un nuovo racconto. Lo spettatore è parte attiva, il finale non un epilogo, ma un ritorno.

[...] The twelve panels in the series The white distance (2010) originate from a previous project (Solo Espera, 2007), which was particularly important in Patrizia Novello's career. Three years later, the artist felt the need to revisit those papers, enlarging them and softening their colour tones. The writings (some autobiographical, others shared) seem to constitute the beginning of many stories that could give rise to a new narrative. The viewer is an active participant, the ending not an epilogue, but a return.
